iOS 10 brings more diversity and choice to emoji

Emoji have become the quick and cool way to communicate ideas and emotions. This is going to get better for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users when they update to iOS 10 this fall.

The latest iOS version brings one hundred new and redesigned emoji characters. This includes more gender options to existing characters, including new female athletes and professionals. There are also notable redesigns of popular emoji a new rainbow flag and more family options. Emoji are a huge part of iOS 10, specially since Apple has improved the iMessage app to feature more ways to spice up conversations and interactions with friends and family.

Apple boasts computing capabilities of the iPad Pro in a new ad

Apple wants to redefine your thoughts on their tablets and what their iPad Pro lineup can do with a new ad. Instead of focusing on these being desktop replacements, what they’re boasting off is the versatility of these tablets. The 12.9-inch and 9.7-inch iPad Pro models allow you to use an external keyboard, which you can also put away to doodle on the screen using the Apple Pencil. We’re not sure if this is a convincing enough strategy to get people to put away their laptops and PCs—since tablets can only do so much after all. But it does put in a nutshell the best features the iPad Pro can offer users.

LG to out its first Android Nougat-supported smartphone

LG will be one of the first ones out of the gate with a phone that runs on Android Nougat. But they haven’t shown the device yet. LG announced in a press release that the upgrade to the V10, aptly named the V20, will be powered by Android 7.0 Nougat. It’ll supposedly bring “cutting-edge multimedia features” and will give a “distinctive mobile experience” as well as “sets new standard for premium phones for consumers,” Juno Cho, president of LG Electronics and Mobile Communications Company, said in a press release.

But other than that we don’t have any news if it’ll be like the V10 with two selfie cameras and a secondary screen on top. It’s said to come out in Q3 so perhaps they might release it at IFA in Berlin. And with LG announcing an Android Nougat device, that makes us excited that Android’s latest operating system is almost ready to ship out.

Google might be changing the launcher for the 2016 Nexus

If we’re to believe a new report from Android Police, Google’s changing the way you access its launcher in the upcoming Nexus devices. One big change is getting rid of the launcher icon. What you’ll get instead of the button is the ability to swipe at the bottom of the screen to get to your apps. You’ll see a white arrow pointing upwards to indicate there’s more to swipe down there. And quick-launch icons have a frosted white color surrounding them. This makes sense in that it adds an extra icon space at the bottom.

The search bar is also gone and replaced with a “G” nub” that you can tap to start a search. The phone will still allow you to swipe right to access Google Now. Also on the primary homescreen is what looks like a permanent calendar widget. Android Police pointed out that the launcher wasn’t running on Android Nougat and some of the features weren’t working yet.
