Ulysses 2.6 Adds WordPress publishing

Ulysses, the popular writing application that just won an Apple Design Award, will soon get a major update with version 2.6. The developers, German software company The Soulmen, plan to release the new version on August 3, 2016. The update will be free for existing customers.

Review: Ulysses for macOS and iOS

Ulysses gets what matters most to writers. Getting stats like word count and character information is available with one button click. Exporting to popular document formats like .doc and .docx is readily available. 

There's no perfect writing application for all types of writers. I've made a living the past 20 years on Microsoft Word on the Mac and on the PC. At its core, Word is the most universal writing tool there is, but even after decades of use, I can't say I've memorized 80 per cent of its functions.

There's been a steady list of writing apps that have tried to get us back to the purity of writing. Much like staring at a blank sheet of paper on a typewriter, the idea is to remove the clutter and allow the writer to simply focus on writing.

Netflix announces Gilmore Girls launch date

Every person that grew up watching Glimore Girls (myself included) will be excited to learn that Netflix has confirmed the exclusive international launch date for the show's return to Stars Hollow. Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life will be available November 25. The four 90-minute chapters will span the four seasons: winter, spring, summer and fall. 

The new chapters is created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, who executive produces, writes and directs the new chapters with Daniel Palladino.

Netflix renews second season of Beat Bugs 

This adorable feel-good Netflix Original animated series, Beat Bugs, that aims to bring kids and families together over the love for the music of The Beatles will premiere August 3. Writer and Director Josh Wakely has confirmed yesterday at the Netflix Television Critics Association panel discussion that it has already been renewed for a second season and premiering worldwide November 18. The announcement also mentioned seven more aritsts have signed on to participate in the series.

Aloe Blacc, Robbie Williams, Frances and The Lumineers will join the Beat Bugs family this August, adding to an already celebrated set of singing talent that will help introduce the beloved catalogue of Beatles classics to a new generation. Covers by Rod Stewart, Jennifer Hudson and Tori Kelly will be featured in Season 2 this November.
