Send files to an offline recipient on Skype

Microsoft Skype is getting a new useful feature that’ll help it keep up with the numerous messaging apps out there. You can now send over files to someone else without them having to be online. So, if you send a co-worker a file over the weekend, he/she can see that file once Monday comes in. It lets you access the files across multiple devices, too, so you can read the same document no matter what device you’re on. You can send up to 300MB files, which is quite sizable already. If you have the latest version of Skype, you should get this feature automatically.

Apple ‘iPhone 7’ to supposedly get at least 32GB of storage

If this rumour is to be believed, the base model for the upcoming entry-level iPhone would have 32GB storage instead of the paltry 16GB. Apple has been getting flak for the 16GB especially since they’ve introduced features like 4K video recording, which you can’t do much of with 16GB of storage. A source told WSJ that Apple is expected to make that change when they launch “iPhone 7” later this year. The new phone will supposedly adhere to Apple’s current pricing scheme but the base model will have twice the capacity.

Apple currently offers 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. We can’t say if they plan to change these capacities and follow in the footsteps of the 256GB iPad Pro. But if Apple does plan to up the capacity of its entry-level device, that’ll be welcomed by many disgruntled iOS users.

UPDATE: ‘Pokémon GO’ reportedly goes live on Android & iOS in the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, & Japan

Following closed beta tests, it seems the new Pokémon GO is now live on Android (no updates yet for iOS). But reports have surfaced that it currently only works in the U.S., Australia, and New Zealand. Nintendo's augmented reality-based game has been made in collaboration with Niantic Labs and allows you to collect, train, and battle Pokémon in the real world. It’s a free-to-play game with in-app purchase options as well as a Bluetooth accessory that’ll alert you of Pokémon and let you capture them without bringing out your phone. It may not show up for you yet but with this bit of news swirling around, you should expect to have the app ready for your phone in no time.

The game is now also live on iOS in the same areas and it's also already available in Japan as well.

Discontinuation of BlackBerry Classic means the end of an era

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

The announcement earlier today that BlackBerry would discontinue the BlackBerry Classic in favour of Android powered devices marks an end of an era in the smartphone market. Much considered a throwback to iconic BlackBerry devices, the BlackBerry Classic was launched in 2014 as a device for Blackberry loyalists, businessmen and government users and brought back the iconic QWERTY keyboard.

The BlackBerry Classic showcased the best of what BlackBerry devices had to offer. High-end and innovative hardware with a rock solid QWERTY keyboard typing experience as well as security and no nonsene encryption in heaps and bounds.
