HTC Vive hit with auto cancellation issues for some pre-orders

It looks like Oculus isn't the only one with order issues. HTC's been dealing with automatic cancellation for pre-orders of its own virtual reality headset, the Vive. It seems some of the customers have been seeing their orders cancelled after the $800+ USD charge have been declined by some financial institutions. HTC has announced that they've already reinstated some orders that have been cancelled because of this issue. They're encouraging buyers to let their financial institutions know about the upcoming charge. But they're also promising to work with their clients to process payments and to make sure they get their Vive when they're expecting it. Shipping for the is expected to start next week. Oculus offers free shipping for pre-orders to date following delayed release

Because of component shortage, Oculus announced they plan to shoulder shipping fees for pre-orders made until April 2nd, including international orders. They expect to update shipping information by April 12th. The move made by Oculus will save a lot of international customers some money. Reddit user SvenViking says it'll save them over $132 AUD (roughly $131 CAD) from expected cost. Oculus CEO Brendan Iribe confirmed the savings and apologized for not letting customers know earlier about the delay.
