iOS 8.4 exceeds 40% adoption in first week thanks to Apple Music

Apple's latest update to iOS is enjoying over 40 per cent adoption from iPhone and iPad users largely because of the inclusion of the new Apple Music service as part of the update. iOS devices need to update to iOS 8.4 in order to get the Apple Music app and enjoy the free three-month trial period. Apple Music integrates a music streaming service, access to stored and offline music collection as well as the 24/7 streaming Beats 1 radio station and the Connect artist hub.

Apple announced on June 22 that 84 per cent of its users had upgraded to iOS 8, analytics firm Mixpanel said that 40 percent of the installed base has already upgraded to iOS 8.4.

New Sony app lets Xperia users live-stream directly to YouTube and Twitch

Want to live-stream the games you play on your Xperia devices? Or what about a tutorial/walk-through video on how to use a specific app? Sony just unveiled its Live Screen Streaming app that lets you stream directly to YouTube and Twitch. It lets you stream everything from games to apps—whatever it is you’re doing on your Xperia device. You can broadcast in 1080p, 720p, or 360p. And choose to have it stream in public, private, or unlisted. You also have the option to choose if you want to broadcast with audio and video from the front camera. At the moment though, it only works for Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4, Xperia Z4v, and  Xperia Z4 Tablet.

New ‘Spider-Man’ film gets a new Aunt May in Marisa Tomei

Perhaps just to make you feel a bit older or it just keeps in line with the younger approach to the Spider-Man reboot. The new Aunt May for the upcoming film will be Oscar-winning actress Marisa Tomei. She’ll be co-starring with up-and-coming actor Tom Holland, who shall be taking up the titular role. Holland is 19 years old, so perhaps it makes sense to make Aunt May a bit younger. Tomei is already 50 years old but she is still younger than the other two aunts of Peter Parker that were cast before. Sally Field was 65 when she was in The Amazing Spider-Man in 2012 and Rosemary Harris was 75 when she first played the role in Spider-Man back in 2002. The film is expected to come out on July 28, 2017.
