ingenie car insurance focused on young drivers launches in Ontario

Now available in Ontario exclusively for drivers aged 16-24, ingenie insurance is designed to help young drivers become better, safer drivers, then reward them with Good Driving Discounts. In the U.K. where ingenie has been available since 2011, the approach has reduced young drivers’ risk of accident during the first six-months of driving by 40%.

Young drivers insured by ingenie install a Smartbox in their car, which builds a picture of their driving style based on indicators such as speed, acceleration, braking and cornering. Customers receive feedback on their driving every 10 days through the ingenie app or online at ingenie.ca.

Photo backup on Android might come to Google Drive soon

With Google splitting up its Google+ services into standalone apps, it would seem photos will need to find a new place for backing them up. Google is reportedly going to bring it to Google Drive. Android Police found in the latest version of the cloud storage app preliminary code that allows for an eventual photo backup. It would work much like Google+ and Photos app. It might even get Chromecast streaming support. We’re not sure yet if this’ll show up in the next release but we’re going to keep our eye out for it if it does.
