Microsoft sees a future in Holograms with HoloLens

Microsoft's big next-gen technology play will be holograms, or at least the company's 'version' of this immersive virtual reality experience.

Just as rival Google has placed its Google Glass project in the hands of a new team, Microsoft revealed it has been working on its own augmented reality headset and glasses called HoloLens.

Microsoft's new browser for Windows 10 is called Project Spartan

Microsoft has been working on a next generaton web browser to come with Windows 10 and it is called Project Spartan. The first major browser move after Internet Explorer, Project Spartan boasts a new rendering engine for faster and more accurate webpages, an annotating feature that allows users to use a pen or their fingers to markup text or images on touch devices and a new reading mode that sheds images and formatting to give users a better reading experience and Cortana is also woven into Project Spartan which means users should be able to easily access the personal assistant for searches.

Project Spartan is still a ways off and won't be included in the next build of the Windows 10 preview it is coming to both desktop and mobile in the future.

Microsoft launches Windows 10, will be free upgrade for Windows 7 and Windows 8 users

Microsoft really wants to make up for Windows 8 and it also wants holdouts move away from Windows 7 so it will be offering the latest, greatest Windows 10 OS for free as an upgrade for users of Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 8. Microsoft wants everyone to get on Windows 10 so the offer will be good for one year.

Microsoft also demoed how Windows 10 and XBox One will be more integrated, allowing any connected Windows 10 PC to play XBox one games remotely. Hit jump for the full details on today's announcement.

Finally. Yes, I mean it. FINALLY we are seeing more stylish offerings for women when it comes to wearable tech. Let's face it, while the smart watches are nice, they haven't quite appealed to the fashion forward female market. But developers and designers are racing to meet the screaming wants of women everywhere.
