Adobe data Shows Cyber Monday sales went up by 16 per cent to the tune of $2.65 billion

Did you find a lot of online deals during Cyber Monday? So did millions of other shoppers. Adobe released its 2014 Digital Index Online Shopping data for Cyber Monday. Total online sales came in at $2.65 billion, up 16 percent compared to 2013.

The top 25 retailers, who each generated $30 million or more on Cyber Monday, saw online sales increase by 25 percent capturing nearly $1.8 billion. Smaller retailers, those generating $2 million or less, grew by five percent. Consumers saw the highest discounts of 23 percent in the early morning hours and more than half (54 percent) of online sales came in outside of normal working hours.

Samsung’s J.K. Shin gets to keep job despite S5’s low sales

Samsung isn’t letting go of mobile chief J.K. Shin yet. All the heads of Samsung’s different business arms retain their positions. But after reportedly selling 40% less than expected for the Galaxy S5, someone is taking the fall. The one taking responsibility for the sales slump is president and head of sales and marketing for mobile unit, D.J. Lee. There is no word yet who will replace him. And rumours have circulated that there will be other job cuts in the company’s mobile division as well.

Dropbox for iOS now lets you rename files and folders

Dropbox is adding more functionality to its iOS app with its latest update. You can now rename files and folders as well as move files around through the app. There is a “more actions” button right beside the sharing button when you preview a file. From that three dot icon, you can find the options to rename or move a file. To rename a folder, simply swipe right on the target folder while in the list view and then tap the rename icon.
