HP's Chronowing smartwatch is compatible with Android and iOS

We're starting to see tradtional PC companies throw down in the wearables game. Microsoft's launched their Microsoft Band health tracker last week in the US and HP revealed its own cross-platform smartwatch that's designed for use with iPhones as well as a bevy of Android phones. The Chronowing can easil be confused with a sportswatch or even a more premium Casio G-Shock.

Created in tandem with designer Michael Bastian, the The MB Chronowing will be available from Gilt on November 7 and in two editions; the standard one (leather, rubber or nylon strap) that will set you back $349, and 300 limited edition ones with an Apple Watch style sapphire crystal glass face and an alligator strap that costs $649. Battery life is rated for 7 days but that's because there are no health tracking feautures. It does run navigations, music app controls and has many basic electonic watch features as well.

Support of Yahoo, Outlook, IMAP accounts will come to latest Gmail Android app

Gmail is getting a major update pretty soon that doesn't just show off a new look but lets you receive non-Gmail emails right on your app. Gmail version 5.0 will support any IMAP or Exchange email accounts such as Yahoo and Outlook. It gets a Material Design makeover that introduces more colours into the interface and let you switch between accounts easily. The way messages are threaded seems to have taken its inspiration from the new Inbox app. The update should be rolling out soon but if you can't wait Android Police has an APK up. We added the link below.

Google reportedly working on a cross-platform version of Apple's AirDrop

Dubbed as Copresence, Google is tipped to be working on a new service that will let Android devices share media with those nearby, even if they are running on iOS. An Android Police source spotted the information while digging around the new Google Play Services APK. Copresence will make use of location information or Bluetooth to authenticate based on proximity. This will be unlike Android Beam that needed contact list approval. It will reportedly let you share information via Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi direct and it would probably have strong integration with Hangouts chat app as seen in the graphics uncovered in the APK.

New rumours surface of a 12.2-inch iPad Pro

Apple hasn’t confirmed that a larger screened iPad is coming out but that doesn’t stop the rumour mill from saying there is one on the way. Calling it the iPad Pro, it will reportedly have a 12.2-inch display that will have a thickness between 6.9mm and 7.1mm. It is said to carry the same design language as the iPad Air 2 and might even have one pair of speakers and microphones at the top and bottom of the device. It is expected to make its appearance in 2015.
