I think we can all agree that colourful socks are a great addition to any outfit. In a growing sock market created by the more notorious household brands like Happy Socks and Bugachi, there is now a brand that dares to be different, Toronto-based HUELY socks. Rather than focusing on computer-generated abstract designs to catch eyes and sell, HUELY takes a different approach to garnering its' attention, all designs are curated by local artists in the Toronto area. This not only helps amplify the designs of artists who deserve their time in the spotlight, but it also ensures they are properly compensated for their work - a known bane in the art world.

Google Play Store gets Material Design revamp

Google seems to be going full steam ahead with its redesign. The tech company has just rolled out version 5.0.31 of its Google Play Store to bring Material Design to it. You see a flatter Play Store icon and more bold colors and animation with its new look. There is new animations for the slide-in panel and a change in how “What’s New” section is displayed. The Play Store also feels quicker to load and navigate through. The new look is rolling out bit by bit so just be patient and wait for it to come to you.

Carl Zeiss offers $99 VR One headset

Think Samsung’s Gear VR is too expensive for you or the Google Cardboard too flimsy? If you can’t wait for Oculus Rift’s VR headset too, Carl Zeiss has created their own virtual reality headset. The VR One is the US$99 option that works with devices between 4.7- and 5.2-inches. However, you would need to buy different “drawers” to hold different sized devices. This will set you back $9.90 more. The VR One is expected to drop next year but the pre-order page is up already and we’ve included it in the link below.
