iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus pre-orders now open

Apple has opened up its pre-order page for unlocked iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus which are slated to arrive in Canada on the 19th. Ordering systems in Canada opened at 3 AM without issue while some buyers in the US were frustrated by glitchy pre-order pages.

Aside from two sizes at 4.7-inched and 5.5-inches, interested parties will have to select a finish (silver, gold and space grey) and capacities ranging from 16GB, 64GB or 128GB. As for carriers, TELUS, Rogers and Bell all have their specific pre-order pages up and running.

Demand for new iPhones has been traditionally high in Canada and this year, having larger screens, two-sizes and a range of storage capacities, it is expected to be no different. Ordering an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus? Which one are you getting and why. Let us know below.

Review: Moto X (2014)

Text and photos by Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

I have no doubt that this year’s Moto X can tussle with any of the leading smartphones we have today and match or even surpass them in the common functions, running apps, surfing the web, multitasking, and even starting the camera and taking burst-mode photos, which are all a huge improvement over last year’s model.

Last year’s most surprising smartphone was the Google-owned Motorola Moto X. A mid-range smartphone in terms of specs, it innovated various areas and became a favourite of many reviewers as well as loyal fans who preferred it to the Nexus 5 as the closest thing to a Pure Android device.

Great design, touchless control, gesture-enabled camera and for lucky US-based users, a fully customizable palette of colours, textures, capacities and even startup screens. The Moto X was the blueprint that was used to create the Moto G (Moto’s white knight) and the Moto E; the original Moto X remains one of 2013’s best non-superphone devices. Let's find out how the new one fares.

HTC offers Sense 6 lock screen on Google Play

HTC continues to unbundle its system apps and this time around the Sense 6 lock screen is decoupled from its firmware. However, you won’t be able to get this if your device isn’t running Sense 6. But for those who can run this, you would need to reboot after you install the lock screen. It’s not the most utilitarian app but it’s a good thing that it is making its way to Play Store so updates can get to us faster. If you own a One M8 or M7 you might be prompted to update pretty soon.
