Sony Pictures to create a ‘The Last of Us’ movie

Fans of the game The Last of Us are in for a treat. The game will be made into a movie by Sony Pictures. They revealed the limited edition San Diego Comic Con poster over at Twitter. The film with be produced by Sam Raimi and be written by The Last of Us director Neil Druckmann. According to Kotaku, there are rumours that Maisie Williams (you all know her as Arya Stark) might play Ellie. But we’re not sure about that yet. Who would you want to see as the cast of the film?

Foursquare tipped to release Swarm app for Windows Phone soon

Wondering what the fuss is about with Foursquare’s Swarm app but own a Windows Phone? Well, you can check out the app pretty soon as the company plans to release the check-in app “in the next few weeks.” They showed off what the app will look like through a blog post. And from what we see, it looks similar to what they’ve done with their Android and iOS apps.

Xbox One SmartGlass Beta for Android now lets you buy games remotely

Microsoft wants to make it easier for Xbox One owners who don’t own Windows Phones to buy games remotely. The Xbox One SmartGlass Beta app for Android now lets you purchase new games while you’re on the go. Users are also allowed to buy add-on content for games from the app.

The Xbox One SmartGlass Beta app also gets new features such as the ability to like game clips or items on their activity feed. You may need to update your console as well to take full advantage of these features. You can download the app here.

Screenshots of the Samsung Gear VR Manager app surface

It’s not the easiest thing to keep a secret in tech these days. So, we’re not really surprised when leaked screenshots of Samsung’s reported VR headset have surfaced. The Gear VR is tipped to be unveiled at this year’s IFA and this time we get to see screenshots of the supposed manager app for the headset. Based on these screenshots, it looks like the Gear VR will be getting some pretty nifty features, including S-Voice compatibility, full touch capability with a touchpad, and a see-thru display (when you need it to be). Let’s hope this is legit. If we find out more, we’ll let you know.
