The popular Spotify music streaming website service and app is now available to Canadians who signed up for the pre-launch invite codes. Emails to these individuals started coming in today with codes to try the service for free for 30 days. Spotify has 40 million users and 10 million paid subscribers worldwide.

We’ve clearly hit a point in our technological evolution where we have begun to see the presence of wired connections (whether for data or for power) as an annoyance and not as a critical component of our gadgets.
We crave a life where all of our tech toys can talk to each other wirelessly and – dare we dream – charge themselves wirelessly too.
And while the wireless charging scenario is still a few years from becoming mainstream, wireless data is here and it is rapidly gaining a foothold amongst most of our devices.

The Kickstarter project is Montreal-based, has been in the making for two years and hopes to be the most compact smartphone charger which is no larger than a keyfob can fit in your keychain. The project is currently being backed by 470 people and is very close to getting to its $25,000 goal.

For the first time ever, Nintendo’s Mario Kart franchise will be powered by some real-world horsepower. An August 27 game update to Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U console will deliver a variety of new features for players, including the ability in-game to download three free Mercedes-Benz cars that players can race: the modern Mercedes-Benz GLA, the 300 SL Roadster from the 1950s and the legendary Silver Arrow of the 1930s.
