Google brings actor and soundtrack info cards for Play Movies users

Google is introducing actor and soundtrack information cards to all markets with Google Play Movies and TV app following initial roll-out to the US and UK. This feature lets viewers find out more about the onscreen actors and background music while watching a film. You just need to hit pause for the cards to show up. This minor feature can be seen as handy for those who like to look up who they’re watching or what’s playing in the background.

Microsoft tipped to release touch-based Office on Android before Windows

Windows users might feel shortchanged by new reports swirling that Microsoft plans to release its redesigned touch-friendly Office suite to Android by the end of 2014 while the Windows version has been pushed back to spring of 2015. This rumour is in line with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella's plans to have the company succeed in what he labels as the "post-post-PC era." This means making their services available to other platforms. Nadella has previously hinted that they plan to launch other major apps outside of Windows platform. We will keep you posted for any updates on this subject.

Panasonic Canada marries landline and mobile phone capabilities with DECT series

Panasonic Canada is bringing new home cordless phones that allow your landline and mobile phone to work together. The DECT series has models (KXPRW120 and KXPRW130) that come with Smartphone Connect functionality, a feature that turns your smartphone or tablet into an additional handset. You just need to install the Smartphone Connect app for Android and iOS and be within the range of your wireless router. These models also have Baby Monitor feature but will need an additional handset and Talking Caller ID to let you know who’s calling you. The KXPRW120 and KXPRW130 both retail for $169.99.

Nintendo launches Mario Kart 8 with 15 year old Karting Sensation Jeff Kingsley

If you haven't heard Jeff Kingsley, you will. This 15 year old teenager is one to watch on the racing circuit. Jeff has been given the green flag to proceed on the track and has already proven that he's a serious driver with the title of Eastern Canadian ROTAX Kart Champion on his creditentials.  I caught up with Jeff at 401 Mini-Indy Go Karts in Toronto for Mario's Canadian Karting Day, the  launch event for Nintendo's latest game, Mario Kart 8  to ask him about what it's like to be a "Karting Sensation" and what's next.
