Canadian HTC Ones will be getting Android 4.4 KitKat soon

HTC's flagship smartphone is about to get much smarter. Canadian carriers are slated to release the much awaited KitKat update for the HTC One. HTC Canada has confirmed that carriers Rogers, Bell, TELUS, SaskTel, Virgin and WIND all have possession of the update and are running the mandatory tests before unleashing the update into the wild. Timeframe for release is for late January, but as far as carriers go, that's a moving target.

A roadmap leak by LlabTooFeR also confirms that the rest of the HTC One bunch (meaning the mini, max and even the Desire 601) are expected to be blessed with updated Android 4.4.2 plus Sense 5 double-whammy. Which should keep users of these devices quite happy.

Will the Nexus 5 be sold in new colours?

Certain leaks are pointing to the possibility of seeing the Nexus 5 smartphone in various colours aside from the standard black and white variants. Rumour has it that we'll see Nexus 5's in red, blue, yellow and green. While there's not telling if this is a hoax or a way to further entice new users into the Nexus fold, using Googly colours is a strategy Google currently employs for it's most recent HP Chromebook 11 models (although certain colours, it seems, are not available in all markets). Stay tuned for developments.
