HTC One likely to come in blue too

While the black variant of HTC's flagship HTC One smartphone is just starting to be made available through certain Canadian carriers, we've already seen a red and now a blue variant possibly coming to market. Proving once more that phone colour options are a thing for smartphones this year (see iPhone 5C, Moto X), HTC is obliging user's need for a little variety in their devices. Personally, I still think the original silver colour looks the best but here's to diversity.

WhatsApp Messenger surges past 300 Million users, updated with voice messaging feature

WhatsApp Messenger is 300 Million users strong. The cross platform messaging app which is available for free to iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Symbian and BlackBerry users hit the milestone by adding 50 million new users in the apst two months. What's more staggering is that WhatsApp processes more than 31 billion messages a day.

WhatsApp is also adding a voice messaging feature in its latest update within the next 24 hours which will allow users in all platforms to send short voice messages, much like voice messages on phones. Members simply tap and hold the microphone icon to record a message that sends on release of the button, or they can slide their finger to the left to cancel the recording. WhatsApp is becoming a force in cross platform messaging and already has a head start on many of its competitors.

Skype updates Windows Phone 8 app with new look and list filters

The new 2.9 version of Skype for Windows Phone 8 revamps its look and splits Windows Phone contacts and Skype contacts. The new Home Screen lets you easily pivot through the app’s functions and features smaller Favorite Contact tiles to make scrolling through your list easier. Meanwhile, the People List Filter allows you to either view all your contacts, your Skype contacts, or only those who are online.
