Video: new iPhone 5 ad focuses on smartphone photography

Apple's latest iPhone 5 ad focuses on a single function of the device, the 8 megapixel camera. Capturing how crazy the world has become about taking and sharing photos with our smartphones in the Instagram age, the simple message is, 'every day more photos are taken with the iPhone than with any other camera,' which is probably true. The cameras on the iPhone 4, 4S and iPhone 5 remain as some of the best in the smartphone industry and the range of apps to tweak and share these photos is simply staggering. How important does the camera on a smartphone affect your decision to choose it over others?

Apple's WWDC to take place June 10-14 in San Francisco

Apple has announced that the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will be taking place from June 10 to 14th in San Francisco. Tickets will be available for sale startin tomorrow, April 25th at 10 a.m. PDT for $1599. Expect those to go quickly. Hit jump for some stats and rundown of activities.

The Apple Beat: Celebrating a decade of iTunes

It is hard to believe that iTunes is 10 years old. The music download service was revealed in 2003 as a legal and secure way to download music (later on movies and TV shows). iTunes put technology at the disposal of music fans but it also allowed for artists to profit from their music in the post-Napster era. For record labels and distributors, iTunes became a way to break new talent as well as cash-in on artists' back catalog of songs.
