Lytro's Light Field Cameras coming in 2012, start at US $399

By Gadjo Caedenas Sevilla

It is the most innovative development in photography since the digital camera. Lytro's light field cameras are shoot-now, focus-later devices taht are devoid of manifold buttons and kilometric menu screens we've all come to associate with modern digital cameras. This is point-and-shoot simplicity at its most basic, yet you get photos that are always focused because you can go ahead and focus them later on in software. These very unusual and very uniquely designed cameras start at US $399 and wont ship until 2012.

While this is an exciting development in digital photography, we're thinking the initial price point might be a little steep for the general public. Also, announcing a product and having it ship many months later is a bit of a buzzkill, specially for something so new and unusual.
