Samsung's Odyssey Neo G9 will be 'first' 8K ultrawide gaming display

Source: AMD

With the launch of AMD's Radeon RX 7900 GPUs, Samsung wants to arm you with a gaming display that can support 8K video. The company has teased that its next-generation version of the Odyssey Neo G9 will be the first 8K ultrawide gaming monitor. We're expected to see the full launch at CES in January. But this monitor requires a DisplayPort 2.1-capable video to get the most out of it. According to AMD, the 8K is "horizontal only" so you may not get as many vertical pixels as you want.

As for content, AMD has said some games will run on its card with the help of upscaling, including Assassin's Creed ValhallaDeath StrandingModern Warfare 2, and Uncharted, but we don't know how well native 8K will perform just yet.
