BlackBerry Torch launched, UAE-RIM issue escalates

BlackBerry's sliding smartphone, the 9800 AKA "BlackBerry Torch," has been launched after an earlier leake on the AT&T' s website. This new model features a 5 megapixel cam with flash, full QWERTY on a portrait slide, 802.11n support and the spanking new BlackBerry 6 OS boasting a new WebKit (i.e. faster) browser, a social feed stream reader, an iPod like media player, a universal search function and multi-touch gesture support.Video and details follow after the break.

Motoring: Chevrolet Cruze Sales Pass 270,000 as Introduction Nears 

Even before the first models reach U.S. dealers, the Chevrolet Cruze is among the fastest-growing nameplates in the world with sales rising an average of 18 percent per month.

Internationally, customers have purchased 140,000 Cruze in the first six months of 2010 and a total of 270,000 since Cruze launched in the spring of 2009 in Europe, followed by other major markets, such as China in summer of 2009.

Telus to increase wireless data network speeds up to 42 Mb/s

 

Telus today announced Canada's fastest* mobile network is about to get even faster. Using state-of-the-art HSPA+ Dual Cell technology, TELUS will increase its already ultra-fast 3G+ wireless data network access speeds to up to 42 Mb/s when commercial deployment is complete in Canadian cities and towns.

During the recent iPhone 4 launch, we found two things out. The first is that the Apple retail stores didn't have any stock of the free Apple bumpers that are supposed to come with every iPhone 4. The second was that the Apple stores still don't have any iPhone 4 cases so your best bet is to go to Best Buy where a limited number of cases and screen protectors are available.
