Samsung to host 'Awesome Galaxy A Event' on Mar. 17

Source: Samsung

Samsung is about to hold its second event of the year. The company has started sending out invites for its "Awesome Galaxy A Event" on Thursday, March 17 at 10 AM ET. The event will stream live on Samsung's website and YouTube channel. That event invite highlights what we're expecting from the brand. There are rumours that Samsung plans to introduce the Galaxy A73 and A53 this year. That would follow a similar timeline to last year's launch Galaxy A72 and A52

Rumour has it that the Galaxy A73 and A53 will be 5G-ready devices, an upgrade for the A72. (The Galaxy A52 already has a 5G variant.) The A73 is expected to have the same 6.7-inch display and Snapdragon 750G processor, while the Galaxy A53 is expected to pair its 6.5-inch display with its in-house Exynos 1200 chipset.

Apple drops first trailer for Magic Johnson's 'They Call Me Magic' documentary

The tone looks like it took a lot of cues from that Netflix documentary, but it also seems to celebrate Johnson's family life and activism alongside his stellar basketball career.

Samsung might be experimenting with skins for its phones

Source: Samsung

Or maybe we have to call them by what it's called in Samsung's trademark application: Fashion Film. The company has filed for a trademark application in the UK for "protective and decorative films adapted for smartphones." It doesn't confirm an actual product, but it does give us an idea of what Samsung might be planning. Right now, the space is mainly occupied by companies like Dbrand. But it looks like Samsung wants a piece of that. A skin would be another way to customize phones, which it has been doing with things like its Bespoke Edition devices.
