Apple tipped to use OLED panels for 'some' iPad models in 2022

If the report from Korea's ETNews is accurate, we might see "some" iPad models sporting OLED screens next year. The publication cites industry sources that claim Apple plans to make the switch, but the report didn't specify which ones will get OLED technology. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported the mid-range iPad Air would get an OLED display in 2022. According to the report, Samsung and LG will still be the suppliers of OLED displays for future iPads.

Higher-end iPhones and Apple Watch models are the ones that use OLED screens, while other products still use LCD. Last month, Apple brought its mini-LED technology to the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, which provides deeper blacks, higher brightness, and improved contrast over existing LCDs on the iPad.

Xiaomi new charging tech can fully charge a phone in 8 minutes

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has unveiled its newest charging tech that it says breaks world records for both sides and wireless charging speeds. The company modified its Mi 11 Pro with a 4,000mAh battery. The technology allows them to fully charge the phone in eight minutes over 200W wired HyperCharge system or in 15 minutes via 120W wireless charging. The tech, while impressive, may or may not make it to actual products. For now, Xiaomi has brought its 120W wired fast charging to last year's Mi 10 Ultra, which can top up its 4,500mAh battery in a speedy 23 minutes.

'New Nintendo Switch Pro' spotted briefly on Amazon

A new product listing for a "New Nintendo Switch Pro" was spotted briefly on Amazon Mexico, adding fuel to rumours that the Japanese manufacturer is gearing up to launch its new hardware soon. The listing didn't have anything else on it except for the name. As expected, it has been removed since then. There have been rumours that the next Nintendo Switch model will begin production in July, with a release scheduled around September or October. If these whispers are true, then we won't be surprised to hear more about the new Nintendo Switch in the coming months.

This new Switch will reportedly have a 7-inch 720p rigid OLED panel, which will be an upgrade to the current 6.2-inch LCD panel, and it will supposedly be capable of providing 4K graphics when docked to a 4K TV.
