Apple rumoured to be working on a 25W wired charger for the iPhone

Apple might be finally working on improving its wired charging capabilities for the upcoming iPhone 13 series. The company is reportedly working on boosting it to 25W. It's not much, but it's a step in the right direction. Apple's primary charger goes up to 20W for wired charging. Of course, if this report is accurate, then this accessory will be sold separately. Apple stopped including free chargers with the iPhone 12 series. That modest upgrade might entice its customers to get one.

It also reminds us that its competitors are working on wired chargers at around 65W already, so we're keeping our fingers crossed that Apple gets with that program soon.

Are you waiting for Face ID on the Mac?

Face ID might be making its way to more Apple devices in the future. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman wrote in his Power On newsletter this Sunday that Apple might be ready to bring Face ID to the Mac within a "couple of years," with products like the iPhone SE and non-Pro iPads getting the feature as well. Apple hasn't introduced the feature to these models right now to cut costs while offering security via Touch ID.

Gurman believes Apple might also shift from a notch to punch-hole design for its iPhones. According to Gurman, moving to use facial recognition sensors will give Apple "two central features: security and augmented reality." He noted that Touch ID could only provide the former. Have you been waiting for Touch ID to make its way to the Mac and your other Apple devices?

It will give you the option to use the app on your Mac even without your iPhone on or connected online. As with other beta features, multi-device might not work that well for you now.

Source: Ford

The two Detroit carmakers are butting heads once again as GM sues Ford for allegedly violating the trademarks of its Super Cruise feature and its autonomy-focused Cruise company. In case you didn't know, Ford calls its hands-free driving technology BlueCruise.

GM was reportedly holding mediated talks with Ford to reach a "good-faith" arrangement, but the two companies couldn't reach an agreement before the July 24 deadline. A GM spokesperson said the company had "no choice" but to sue Ford after failing to resolve the issue "amicably."
