OnePlus accidentally mentions unannounced Nord 2 on its site

No, there is no OnePlus Nord 2 yet, but it looks like that announcement might happen soon. OnePlus accidentally mentioned the Nord 2 in an FAQ for the company's new partnership with the Google Stadia gaming service. The company is running a new promo where newly purchased OnePlus devices come with a Stadia Premiere Edition bundle. The unannounced Nord 2 was included in the list of devices supporting the promotion. It has since been taken out. But the promo is running until September 30, so we're thinking the Nord 2 will be announced before then.

Amazon's Eero 6 routers get Apple HomeKit support

Amazon has released a new firmware update for its Eero 6 routers that adds support for Apple's HomeKit. Older Eero routers support the smart home platform, so it isn't surprising that this latest line gets them, too. What this feature brings is the ability to firewall each of your HomeKit devices. When you do so, this ensures your smart home devices, like this router, will only communicate with devices in the same WiFi network, and it only connects to the manufacturer's servers for software updates. It's extra security for your smart home devices.

Optimizing your phone for gaming in three simple steps

More people than ever before are choosing to play games on their mobile devices. The ease of access to huge libraries, and the relative performance and availability of modern smartphones, all comes together to make them the fastest growing market for handheld gaming globally.

A survey conducted in 2019 found that, among adult Americans, 60% say they regularly choose to play games on mobile devices. The same survey found that the sample group chose to play on computers 52% of the time, and games consoles only 49%. This contrast is even starker in developing economies due to the fact that, for many people in various parts of the world, the smartphone stands in as their all-purpose computing device.
