Jabra launches midrange Elite 5 earbuds

Source: Jabra

Jabra introduced a new pair of earbuds at IFA 2022. The new Elite 5 is midrange pair similar to its older Elite 75t model. It offers up to seven hours of continuous playback, with active noise cancellation enabled. You can connect two devices simultaenously, and these buds support aptX, AAC, and SBC. The Elite 5 can handle some daily jostling with its IP55 dust and water resistance rating.

Jabra equips this pair with 6mm drivers and customizable EQ. The Elite 5 has six onboard mics for better voice call performance with wind suppression. According to the company, its design provides "a discreet, comfortable, and compact fit." It sports the same teardrop shape of existing Elite series accessories. And it supports features like Android Fast Pair, Windows Swift Pair, and Google Assistant and Alexa integration. You can get the new Jabra Elite 5 for US$149 (around CA$196).

Jabra launches new TWS earbuds that can help those coping with hearing loss

Source: Jabra

Jabra recently announced its Enhance Plus earbuds. This pair of true wireless buds don't just help you listen to music or take calls but help those with "mild-to-moderate" hearing loss. If you aren't ready for a hearing aid yet, this could be an option to consider.

Jabra plans to launch this pair first in the US by the end of the year. Jabra will sell them through licensed hearing care professionals, but the company hasn't announced pricing yet. These earbuds might be Jabra's first entry into the business, but its parent company, GN Group, has worked in the industry for a while.

Review: Fitbit Flyer

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

Fitbit has created a sporty Bluetooth headset to accompany its Fitbit Ionic smartwatch.

Being the first audio product from Fitbit, I had some reservations about the Flyer and wondered about things like fit, finish and sound quality.

I was pleasantly surprised when the Fitbit Flyer fit me right out of the box without me needing to attach any of the included rubber earpieces. Not only did it fit well, I found that I didn’t suffer stress or pain wearing it for a prolonged period of time.

I’ve tested a lot of these Bluetooth headphones and fit has always been a sticking point. So far, the Jabra Coach headphones have been the best I’ve tried in terms of comfort and sound, but the Fitbit Flyer fits better and I can wear them for a longer period of time because they're comfortable and because they last longer.

GIFT GUIDE: 10 Cool & Useful Tech Gadgets For Families

By Sonya Davidson

While wandering through the Toronto Eaton Centre with my son last night before a show and remembered that there was a new Telus concept store. Since the kid had NOT given any hints as to what he's going to ask Santa for, this was a good opportunity to see what would make his list.

If you've been to the newly renovated level recently (located just below the future home of Nordstroms) you'll find this new full shopping experience store. Telus is branching out even more to become more than a service provider and accessories retailer to the devices they carry. You can read about it here.
