Amazon’s home surveillance robot Vesta isn’t ready for primetime yet

Amazon is reportedly working on a household surveillance robot called Vesta. It was supposed to be released to the public around this time. But according to reports, it isn’t ready for mass production just yet. The robot is said to be waist high, and it will have the Alexa voice assistant. It’ll be voice-controlled, and it can move around the house on its own with the help of its built-in cameras. Amazon’s goal is to give its customers access to Alexa no matter where they are at home. Vesta will also help keep an eye out for any intruders in the home while homeowners are away.

Amazon releases new Kindle Oasis with adjustable warm light for night reading

Amazon updates the Kindle Oasis to bring one feature some users might need—adjustable warm light. This lets you tweak the color tone of the screen to make it easier to read at night. With an upgraded E Ink technology, the pages also load quicker now. The battery is slightly bigger as well at 1,130mAh (it was previously 1,000mAh). Otherwise, the e-reader is the same. It has a 7-inch 300ppi E Ink display, IPX8 waterproofing, 8GB/32GB of storage, and it comes in Graphite or Gold. The Kindle Oasis is available for pre-order now, and it will be delivered on July 24^th. The 8GB model retails for CA$329.99, while the 32GB Wi-Fi model goes for CA$359.99. If you want cellular connectivity, the 32GB model has that option as well and this goes for CA$429.99.

Childish Gambino’s new film ‘Guava Island’ is coming to Amazon Prime Video this April 13th

Donald Glover a.k.a. Childish Gambino has another special tie-in for his Coachella performance this weekend. After his set ends on Saturday morning (2:25 a.m. ET), he will release the movie Guava Island on Amazon Prime Video at 3:01 a.m. ET. Dubbed as a “Childish Gambino Film,” it’s directed by Glover’s Atlanta collaborator Hiro Murai. He co-stars with Rihanna and Letitia Wright. Not much is known about the film’s plot, except there’s a possibility that he gets kidnapped in the film. It was filmed on location in Cuba.
