Apple officially rolls out iOS 16.4

If you've been waiting for the Apple iOS 16.4 update, your wait is over. Apple has officially released updates for all of its major platforms (including MacOS 13.3, iPadOS 16.4 and WatchOS 9.4 updates). It introduces some more emojis and the pulled new HomeKit architecture is reintroduced with this update, among other new features. There's also a new accessibility feature that can dim the screen when it detects flashing lights or strobe effects in video content. You can now try out the new OS by heading to your device's settings app to update.

Google Pixel's Magic Eraser feature comes to more devices

As announced last month, Google is bringing some of its newer Pixel features to more devices. One of the notable rollouts is its Magic Eraser tool. The feature can digitally take out unwanted objects (or even people) in photos to get you the look you want. It launched on the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro and came to last year's Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, which made us believe it was only available on phones running on Google's Tensor chipset.

But Google has started to roll it out to older Pixel devices, and those with Google One subscriptions on Android and iOS can access it, too. Your phone needs at least 3GB of RAM and runs on Android 8.0 or iOS 15.0 or later.

iOS 16.3.1 update appears to break Google Photos

The latest iOS update seems to be causing trouble with Google Photos. So, if you rely heavily on Google Photos, you might want to hold back. However, the issue with that this update fixes a vulnerability being actively exploited in the wild. Maybe now might not be the time to use Google Photos on the platform. 

It's being reported that the photo service crashes instantly for iPhone and iPad users attempting to open it after the upgrade. Hopefully, Apple or Google comes up with a fix for this as soon as possible.
