Apple's Online Store goes down in anticipation of new product announcements

San Francisco: Apple's Online Store has been taken down in preparation for today's Special Event where new iPhones are expected to be announced (and likely ready for pre-order). Apple is holding an event here in downtown San Francisco today which is expected to be focused on iOS 9 and the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. The size of the venue, plus numerous hints that this will be a 'big' launch event has generated a lot of buzz for other, unexpected revelations.

Apple Watch and watchOS 2.0 OS is expected to make a splash today, while many believe that Apple TV will be getting a big update in terms of hardware, software as well as content services. Other rumours focus on a larger iPad Pro, even if Apple traditionally holds a separate and iPad and Mac-specific October event. Stay tuned for more coverage today from the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.

A more expensive Apple TV is reportedly coming your way

There have been countless rumours about the upcoming Apple TV. The latest report claims it’ll integrate motion control. And with all the added features that’ll supposedly be shipping with it, it comes as no surprise that it’ll be more expensive. According to sources of 9to5mac, the next set-top box from Apple will retail for around US$149 - $199 and it’ll come out in October. But there are also claims that the third-generation Apple TV will still be around so you can still spend less than $100 on that.

The new Apple TV will reportedly have a slimmer chassis, “drastically improved” remote with touchpad input, Siri support, and a bump up for onboard storage. Google Slides gets AirPlay, Chromecast support for streaming presentations

Google is giving offices, particularly smaller companies and startups, a cheaper option to showing presentations. The Google Slides app now supports Chromecast and AirPlay, which means you can stream your presentations to a TV that has Apple TV or Chromecast attached to it. The Slides app also turns your device into a remote control so you can see your notes without it showing up on the TV and there are slide timers to help keep your presentation moving.
