Philips Hue White Ambiance has the right light for the right moment

We've been looking to renovate our master bathroom at home ideally to resemble the one at the Four Seasons Hotel in Toronto. Wishful thinking but realistically there are ways to recreate at parts of it without breaking the bank.

I had seen the Philips Hue product line several times at press and consumer events. It had stuck with me but originally I couldn't get past the party light mood in my mind as that's what was shown - flashing, colourful and fun. Recently the line extended to include a new Philips Hue White Ambiance light. Now that definitely was appealing since I'll do anything to try and make our house a blissful place to come home to -- hey, winter is coming and I need more of this vibe....

Apple gives rainbow-coloured Apple Watch bands to employees for Pride weekend

Apple CEO Tim Cook together with a number of its employees joined the annual Pride Parade in San Francisco in style. The Apple employees were given a limited edition, rainbow-coloured watch band to commemorate the event. A Reddit user posted a photo of the Apple Watch with the colorful band attached to it and a letter talking about the 30^th year Apple has been associated with Pride and how the band is “a symbol of our commitment to equality.” Cook, who we know has been open about his life as a gay man, shared a photo about Sunday’s parade and the large number of Apple employees who showed up to celebrate.

If you're wondering what to get mom for Mother's Day let me help you out. As a mom of two boys I can tell you that of course, we want time to be with you. Or at least a call..maybe some flowers would be nice. Not having to cook or clean for day is ideal. In my household, the boys are already asking for hints of what I want. While, I realize that the day seems to be so "material" because of all the ads, I also have realized that it's a day that my family loves to dote on me. My mother-in-law has always told me to accept when others truly want to do something for you and be gracious. So, if you're thinking of honouring your mom (or another Mother figure) here are a few gift ideas that I, as a mom, absolutely love and I think yours would enjoy too.

New Apple Watch apps need to work without an iPhone

A new requirement for Apple Watch developers will be a boon for users. Apple sent out a notice that new apps for the Apple Watch will need to run natively on the smartwatch before it’s submitted to the App Store. This means the apps will work on the Watch itself without having its paired iPhone nearby. Previously, Watch apps were streamed from the iPhone, meaning you needed to have the phone with you at all times and apps were slow to launch and a bit sluggish. Having apps run natively on the smartwatch will result in quicker response time and the ability to run more smoothly.

Developers who want to submit starting June 1^st will have to adhere to this. The apps will be built with the new watchOS 2 SDK because support for the 1.0 SDK and any apps built with that will be discontinued.
