Snapchat shuts down standalone Bitmoji app

Source: Snap

The standalone Bitmoji creation app is being shut down by Snap by June 30, 2026. After incorporating Bitmoji characters as a key element on its main Snapchat platform, the social media company is officially integrating the Bitmoji app's features into the Snapchat experience. To access your Bitmoji stickers, fashion items, and keyboard, you'll need to download the Snapchat app.

Bitmoji is coming to Wear OS

That Fitbit integration is slowly making its way to Wear OS. A cosmetic change coming to the smartwatch platform brings Bitmoji watch faces. This is a familiar feature for Fitbit users, but now you can send your Bitmoji avatar to supported apps.

If you're interested in making one, you can do that on Snapchat, Bitmoji.com, or the Bitomoji mobile app. You need to install the Bitmoji watch face on your Wear OS device. It hasn't rolled out, but Google teases that it's coming soon.

You can watch this Jennifer Lopez Snapchat digital concert as your Bitmoji

Source: Snap

Snapchat's parent company Snap is diving into the virtual concert space with Jennifer Lopez and Colombian pop singer Maluma. The concert won't take place within the Snapchat app. Instead, you'll sign into a dedicated website to watch using your Snapchat login and then have your Bitmoji avatar appear as a spectator in the crowd. It actually got pushed back to today at 5 PM PT due to "overwhelming demand," so you can set an alarm for it.

A handful of interactive effects will be available during the show, including the ability to start "the wave" and trigger a virtual laser effect. Lopez and Maluma will appear as 3D avatars, too. The 10-minute concert promotes the upcoming romantic comedy Marry Me starring Lopex and Maluma. It isn't clear if this will be a regular event for Snap, but we won't be surprised if they do more if this becomes successful.

Customize your Bitmoji's avatar with the new 'Mix and Match' feature

It's now easier to customize your Bitmoji to a look that you want with the app's new Mix and Match feature. You can now select each piece of clothing with different styles and colours for tops, bottoms, footwear, outerwear, and even socks. If you find an outfit you like, you can save it to your closet to wear again. You will need the latest version of the app to get the feature. It's also available through Snapchat.

Once you download or update the app, you can access Mix and Match by tapping on the fashion icon to open the Avatar Designer. The bottom navigation will show new icons for each clothing item. On Snapchat, the feature is accessible through your profile. Head to the Bitmoji option and select Change Outfit. The app is available on both iOS and Android.
