This is Fitbit's new Surge health wearable

The deluge of wearables continues, this time around the recently leaked (by Brookstone) Fitbit Surge was brought to light. The US $250.00 wearable has a unique tilted screen and also houses a built-in GPS radio which means you can map your bike or running routes without having to carry a smartphone. The Fitbit surge also has a heart monitor.

The Surge also integrates with over 120 devices including iPhones and many of the flagship Android devices to push notifications as well as text messages and caller ID. Here's hoping that Fitbit solved their itchy band issue because the Surge sure looks like a great option of health-focused wearable users. The Fitbit surge comes in 2015.

Nokia's Lumia 830 now available across Canada

The latest Windows Phone device from Microsoft is now available in Canada from Rogers, Fido, TELUS and Bell. The Lumia 830 is being touted as the "Affordable Flagship" since it brings the premium build and materials of earlier devices like the Nokia Icon and the Lumia 930 (not available in Canada) to a device with midrange processor and camera specifications. Running on the latest 'Denim' build of Windows Phone 8.1, which features various enhancements including faster camera software. The Lumia 830 is the first device to officially ship with all the new features including an 'alpha' version of the Cortana personal assistant. Expect a review once we get a device to test. In the meantime,  hit jump for the official release and the specs.

Review: iPad Air 2

Text and photos by Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

Since 2010, Apple’s iPad has kicked off a revolution in mobile tablet computing, attracted an army of failed copycats, expanded its product line into the iPad mini, and sold over 225 million units.

That’s no small feat for a product that had to reinvent tablet computing from the ground up, and which created its own business, largely in the shadow of the highly popular iPhone and its iOS operating system. Here's what I think of the latest iteration of the world's most successful tablet.

iOS 8.1 coming today with features and fixes

In time to enable Apple Pay functionality in the US, iOS 8.1 is expected to roll out later on today. The update is mostly designed to help with Apple Pay features and should also make it possible to experience some of the messaging and calling features tied into Continuity features such as call and SMS relay and the return of the Camera Roll as well as iCloud Drive functionality. As with most iOS OTA (Over the Air Updates), we expect Apple's servers to get slammed for the first day or so making downloads take longer.
