Are we getting a War Machine series for Disney+?

If this rumour pans out, it looks like Marvel hasn’t forgotten about the other guy who has donned the Iron Man suit, War Machine. His story will reportedly be told through a miniseries on Disney’s upcoming streaming service. But it’s said that this story is still in its early development stage, so we might have a bit of a wait until we get any confirmation. It’s expected that Don Cheadle will reprise his role as Col. James Rhodes. The confirmed Disney+ shows we have at this moment include WandaVision, Loki, and Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Perhaps we’ll hear more about this at Marvel’s upcoming panel at SDCC 2019.

Jon Favreau says he’s working on ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 2

Disney

While the Star Wars show The Mandalorian isn’t debuting on Disney+’s streaming service until November 12th, the show is already greenlit for another season. The show’s creator Jon Favreau said he’s working on pre-production for season two, including writing and preparation for special effects shots. Starting work on special effects now will help save them time as well as produce quality effects for the TV show. It also shows that Disney has confidence in the first season, and they are willing to bet people will want more. The Mandalorian takes place five years after the events of Return of the Jedi, and it’s set in the outer reaches of the galaxy.

Announced last year, Disney+ will be getting releasing this six-part series with MCU actors Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan reprising their roles as Falcon and the Winter Soldier, respectively. And it looks like they might be joined by two characters from Captain America: Civil WarIt’s being reported that Emily VanCamp and Daniel Bruhl will be reprising their roles as Peggy Carter’s niece Sharon and villain Zemo, respectively. Now, we’re going to keep our eyes peeled for any updates in the casting or the show itself. Directed by Kari Skogland and produced by Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige, the Falcon and the Winter Soldier is tipped to premiere in August 2020.

Disney is working with the ‘Chef’s Table’ team to produce non-fiction shows for Disney+

In case you were wondering what else we could expect from Disney’s streaming service, it won’t all be limited to Disney properties. The company signed a two-year deal with the Supper Club, the creators of Chef’s Table, for non-fiction content—and no, it won’t be limited to food-related shows. One of the titles the Supper Club is working on is called Marvel 616 (a working title). It’s an anthology documentary show that ties Marvel’s comic book universe and its creators to their historical and cultural contexts. Another is Earthkeepers (also a working title). This documentary series focuses on conservationists and the animals they’re trying to protect and preserve. We don’t have a premiere date yet for either shows, but it is something to look forward to once the service launches.
