Google Home Mini is finally no longer for sale

Source: 9to5Google

The Google Home Mini has had a pretty long shelf life. But it's finally reached its end. After launching in October 2017 and being replaced by the Nest Mini two years later, the Home Mini is now labelled as out of stock on the Google Store. As 9to5Google pointed out, its in-store longevity might be due to Google producing too many at launch, so some might still pop-up in stores. But through Google, you won't be able to get a unit anymore.

The company has been circulating throughout the year, and a Red Flag Deals user spotted the deal once again. If you subscribed to any of the previously mentioned services before December 4th, then you might be able to redeem your smart speaker. There seem to be mixed results from Red Flag Deals users, so it might be best to check it out yourself. You can check out if you qualify, through this link.

After showing up for Google One subscribers in the US, it seems One users in Canada are part of this new promo. The company has been sending emails to users saying they get a Home Mini speaker for free. According to Android Police, the accounts need to have been created before August 6 are eligible. They didn't specify what storage tier is required, though. In the US, 2TB and above plans are eligible. It might be time to check your email or even one.google.com to see if you can score a free smart speaker from Google.

Google introduces new aqua colour option for the Home Mini

It looks like Google won’t be updating its Home Mini speaker at next week’s fall hardware event. The company just released a new colour option for the CAD$80 speaker. It now comes in aqua, too, which Google describes as a “minty blue color that fits perfectly into the Made by Google family.” And they say this new “emits soothing vibes.” If aqua isn’t an option you’re down with, the Home Mini is also available in chalk, charcoal, and coral. The aqua version starts shipping in the US on October 29th. We’ll update you if it makes its way here.
