Amplifon is looking to completely immerse you (virtually, at least) into the world with a new feature added to Google Maps Street View. Sounds of Street View adds sound into the mix and it isn’t just one specific soundtrack per place. The noise and sound changes depending on what you are viewing. If you are near a bustling café, it will get a bit louder. You can hear church bells chime as well as traffic pass by.

Google Maps has added images from 36 universities in Canada and the U.S. Some of the walkthrough images include University of Regina, University of Miami, and Georgetown University, to name a few. Feel like travelling back in time a bit? Google has introduced a new feature for Google Maps Street View on the desktop that lets you see how much a place has changed over time. The digital time capsule shows you how structures, such as the Freedom Tower in New York City, Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, etc., were built. It even shows how reconstruction efforts are going along in Onagawa Japan following the 2011 earthquake and Tsunami.
