Meta set to shutter VR version of Horizon Worlds in June

Source: Meta

After announcing plans to go "all-in" with the mobile version of Horizon Worlds, Meta is cutting off access to the virtual reality version of its first metaverse attempt after June 15, 2026. By the end of March, Meta said individual Horizon Worlds and Events will be taken out of the Quest VR app store, with headset owners left unable to visit worlds such as "Horizon Central, Events Arena, Kaiju and Bobber Bay."

After June 15, the app will be removed entirely from Quest headsets. The Hyperscape Capture beta feature, which has been tested out recently, is also being removed from Horizon Worlds.
