Apps: Kobo Reading Life social app now out for iOS devices

Kobo's Reading Life is the industry’s first-ever global social eReading experience and is now available to both iPad and iPhone users. Reading Life allows users to dive deeper into their reading experience. Apple's App Store celebrates 10 Billion downloads

A sure sign that Apple's iOS ecosystem is thriving, the 10th Billion app download milestone was reached today by the Apple App Store. Opening in July 2008, the App Store marked the legitimacy of the iPhone and iPod Touch as computing devices that could run multiple applications, barely 3 years later 10 Billion applications have made it to the 160 million iOS devices out there. The number one app in the store is still Angry Birds.

Desk Pets' TankBot is an iOS controlled robot for under $20

Desk Pets International (HK) Limited is set to unveil TankBot, the world’s first sub-$20 micro-robotic toy that can be controlled by your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch.  TankBot’s three modes allow it to navigate mazes, roam, and be fully controllable by your Apple device. With a built-in USB charger, battery cost is non-existent, giving TankBot hours of inexpensive playtime. Not available until June, TankBot will make its first public appearance at this year’s Toy Fair in New York City on February 13-16.
