‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ sequel rumoured to start filming on May 28

The follow-up to the 2017 hit Spider-Man: Homecoming is coming back in 2019 and it seems director Jon Watts and his team will get back to work in a few months. According to unnamed sources closed to the production, filming will start on May 28, which gives this Sony-Marvel production more than a year before its expected July 5, 2019 release date. Its lead stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon are all expected to reprise their roles.

Not much is known about the film’s plot but since this’ll be the first film after Avengers: Infinity War, we can expect it to delve into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and how Peter has to deal with being a junior in high school after fighting off Thanos with the rest of the Avengers. Rumour has it there will be filming taking place in London and Germany with some speculating Gwen Stacy is going to be a foreign exchange student. We’re sure to hear more in the coming months.

Netflix renews ‘Marvel’s The Punisher’ for second season

Frank Castle lives to fight another day. Netflix just renewed Marvel’s The Punisher for season 2. The streaming service made the announcement on the show’s Facebook page with a post that says “Season 2 is coming.” Jon Berthal, who plays Castle, was particularly enthused to play the role initially. He told Variety, “Fully candid, being part of a superhero franchise was not something that I really had an ambition towards; it wasn’t really on my radar.” He got onboard when he played a part in Marvel’s Daredevil, which is one of the six Marvel shows we have on Netflix now. The other four being The Defenders, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage.

Tom Holland ‘leaks’ first ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ poster

Whether this was a leak or not, we have to say it’s a clever marketing ploy from the Marvel Studios team. Our new Spider-Man, Tom Holland, went live on Instagram Story earlier today to “unbox” a slim package he got from the Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo. In it was supposedly the first poster of the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War and a note from Ruffalo written at the back of a confidential notice from Marvel. Holland quickly ended the Instagram Story in a panic. But with the video still up on his page, we’re willing to guess this was all planned. You can get a closer look at the poster after the jump.

Here’s our first look at ‘Black Panther’

If you’re like us who weren’t at Comic-Con International, then you haven’t gotten a look at Black Panther yet. Well, now our wait is over. Marvel has finally released the first official trailer for the film. And it shows us how T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) is handling being a newly crowned king and Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) reminding him that “You get to decide what kind of king you are going to be.” The trailer shows us some of the amazing tech produced in Wakanda, which is considered the most technologically advanced country in the world. On top of that we get to see the heavyweights attached to this film, including Angela Bassett (T’Challa’s mother Ramonda), Michael B. Jordan (T’Challa’s Wakandan rival Erik Killmonger), Forest Whitaker (Warrior Zuri), Martin Freeman (Everett K. Ross), and Andy Serkis (Ulysses Klaue/Klaw), to name a few.
