OnePlus Buds will be coming to Canada

While we don't know if OnePlus plans to sell the new OnePlus Nord 5G here, the company's new wireless earbuds will be coming here. The OnePlus Buds will launch on July 27, and it will be available for US$80 (around CA$107). It will be available first in white. The gray variant is coming in August, while the "Nord Blue" version will be an exclusive colour for Europe and India. One of the notable features of the earbuds is its charging speeds. With Warp Charge, you can get 10 hours of listening from a 10-minute charge. With the accompanying charging case, the Buds can get 100 minutes' worth of listening time with the same charge time. Its 430mAh battery promises 30 hours Of listening, which is six hours more than the Apple AirPods.

OnePlus packs in a 13.4mm dynamic driver in each earbud and adds Bass Boost and Dolby Atmos. It supports Fast Pair and customizable long-press and double-tap gestures. The OnePlus Buds come with IPX4 water resistance to handle a bit of sweat and water splashes.

OnePlus launches Nord 5G

 

After tons of teasing and leaks, the OnePlus Nord 5G has officially launched. It's the company's re-entry into the midrange segment at €400 (around CA$622). At this time, we know the OnePlus Nord wouldn't be sold here. But in Asia and Europe, it will be available starting August 4. 

The OnePlus Nord imports some of its flagship features, including the primary 48-megapixel camera on the OnePlus 8, 90Hz Fluid AMOLED screen, and Warp Charge 30T. It runs on the midrange Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, Android 10, with either 8GB RAM + 128GB storage or 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. There will also be a 6GB + 64GB variant that will be available in India in September.

OnePlus Nord will use Google's calling, messaging apps

For Android users who prefer Google's stock apps over anything smartphone manufacturers have to offer, OnePlus has some good news for you. The more budget-friendly OnePlus Nord will use Google's Messages and Duo apps instead of the company's default apps. OnePlus didn't elaborate the reasons behind this choice, but it said the Google apps would deliver the "smoothest" experience for its users.

OnePlus Nord leak shows phone's design, display/other details get confirmed

There are several things we know about the OnePlus Nord. It's the company's return to the midrange market, it promises to offer a " great camera, a really fast, smooth and fluid experience," and it's coming out on July 21. But now we learn more about its cameras and design based on rumours and others confirmed by the company itself.

The OnePlus Nord's design gets leaked by reliable leakster Evan Blass through a photo of the front and back of the phone. OnePlus previously confirmed on a Facebook post that it'll have six cameras all in all. These photos show the vertical layout for the lenses at the back and two sensors arranged in a pill-shaped hole in the top-left corner of the screen.
