OnePlus teases June 1st announcement of their "Two" flagship

At long last, OnePlus is finally shedding some light on their next sure-fire hit, the Two flagship. Oppo (makers of the OnePlus) has set the launch to Q3 of this year and will offer the same invite-only availability guidelines.

In true new media form, OnePlus took to Twitter to tease us at the aforementioned announcement is sooner than we think. Along with the not-so-subtle "it's time for change" verbiage, OnePlus announced that they are “always looking for ways to shake up the tech industry” and posted an image of what could be its forthcoming device.

While the details are sparse, OnePlus says that the official availability announcement will come on June 1st.

Leaked screenshots of OnePlus OxygenOS surface

If you've been wondering what the new Android ROM from OnePlus looks like, some leaks have surfaced online. GizmoChina got their hands on the screenshots and it shows how the platform seems to have adopted the flat, colorful design of Lollipop. The screenshots seem to show the weather app, which keeps things simple with temperature displayed on top of background images. There aren't that many screenshots yet so we can't see yet what OnePlus plans to do with the rest of the Android ROM.

OnePlus 2 release reportedly delayed by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 issues

Hoping to bring out another game changing device, OnePlus team has been creating a lot of hype for its next flagship, the OnePlus 2. It was expected to come out in Q2 of this year but apparently it is getting pushed back to the third quarter. The reason? Issues with Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 810 processor. If true, this issue might even cause some problems for the upcoming flagships of other brands. The other rumoured specs of the new OnePlus device are that'll also run on 4GB of RAM and have a QHD 5.5-inch display.

OnePlus One Bamboo back plate now available, starts shipping in August

OnePlus One has said their device will have a Moto X-like customizability for its handset, meaning there would be interchangeable back covers for the device. The first cover their offering is bamboo back cover, which retails for US$49 on the OnePlus Store and start shipping at the end of August. It is admittedly a bit costly and it will be sold separately from the device. This is where it differs from the Moto X, which lets you customize the phone before it is sent to you. But if you want to change up your device’s look, then best be ready to shell out money for it. The other covers that might come in the future include denim, various kinds of wood, as well as Kevlar.
