Panasonic Canada announced a new digital interchangeable lens system camera, the LUMIX DMC-GF5, features a newly developed 12.1-megapixel Live MOS sensor and redesigned Venus Engine, resulting in true-to-life images through exceptional resolution, image rendering and colour reproduction and the fastest auto-focus performance in this segment.

Canon may finally be getting into the compact Interchangeable Lens Camera market in 2012. The leader in DSLR and point-and-shoot segement, Canon is the remaining holdout in this popular new area of photography. Perennial Archrival Nikon has already played its hand with the Nikon N1 which will be available soon. Canon still has to consider Sony, Olympus, Pentax, Panasonic and Fujifilm which all have appealing small models with alre sensors and a variety of lenses.

16 per cent smaller and lighter than the GF2, more feature packed and a bit more user-friendly than its predecessors, the recently revealed Panasonic Lumix GF-3 is one of the smallest and lightest digital interchangeable lens camera with a built-in flash. It will be available for an expected price of $699.
