Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 can work as your second monitor

Samsung DeX is taking advantage of the Desktop Mode that Google introduced with Android 16 and bringing it to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 series. Samsung's new tablet can finally serve as a second monitor when plugged into your main display. Until now, the DeX experience on a connected display was treated as a separate sandbox from the tablet.

But with the new feature, you can now move app windows across the two screens, drag and drop files, and do what you typically do with a desktop platform. One thing to note is that the tablet home screen will not mirror DeX's user interface with the taskbar at the bottom.

Samsung to discontinue DeX for PC app with One UI 7

Samsung is discontinuing the DeX for PC app, which allows users to mirror their phone's screen on their Windows computer, with the upcoming One UI 7 update. This change was announced on the official Samsung UK website and will likely disappoint some users who have relied on the app for seamless file transfer and a more integrated desktop experience.

Galaxy flagships running One UI 3.1 get wireless DeX support on PC

Wireless DeX on the PC option was first introduced with the Galaxy S21 series, and now Samsung is rolling this feature out to older Galaxy flagships through the One UI 3.1 update. Galaxy flagships starting with the Galaxy S10 series will gain access to this functionality.

Samsung launches DeX app for Windows and Mac

If you have the new Samsung phones and want to use DeX app, you can now use it. The app is now available for Windows 7 and 10 and Mac systems. You can now connect your Galaxy phone to your computer, helping turn your smartphone into a computer. Aside from being able to play games, access local files for a presentation, DeX makes it possible for you to use your computer's keyboard and mouse to control your Galaxy smartphone.
