The Apple Beat: Apple's back in the news, but not for new products

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

Apple's been a hot topic of late but not because of any new products or services. Sure, the new MacBook Airs have arrived and now offer even better battery life thanks to newer Intel processors. SlideShow: Samsung's Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Gear Fit

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

We didn't get enough time with the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Gear Fit review units to bang out a proper review but we did get various photos of the devices and were generally impressed byt the Galaxy Gear Fit's screen, touch functionality and multi-functional health-tracking features. Samsung releases slimmer Galaxy S3

In case you’ve forgotten about the Samsung Galaxy S3, Samsung wants to remind you of its existence with the more svelte Galaxy S3 Slim. However, this refreshed version of S3 has lower specs than its predecessor. It runs on Android 4.2 with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB internal storage (expandable up to 32GB via microSD). It has a 4.5-inch TFT qHD display, 5-megapixel rear camera, VGA front camera, and 2100 mAh battery. The only advantage the new S3 has on the original is its slimmer form factor.
