Lenovo has a long tradition of showing off handsets at CES even if these are to be sold in limited markets like China or Asia Pacific. This year they proudly showcased the Vibe X which is very much a flagship-level device with a quad core 1.5GHz processor running Android 4.2, a 5” 1920 x 1080 full HD resolution display (with 440 ppi pixel density) and as Lenovo puts it, "At just 6.9 mm in profile, it slips easily into your pocket or bag, and at only 121 g it will never weigh you down." Will we see this smartphone launched in Canada? Only time will tell, but it is certain to earn Lenovo some recognition wherever it is made available.

Asus reveals a new line of Intel-powered smartphones at CES 2014. The ZenFone will be available in 6-, 5-, and 4-inch screen sizes and equipped with Zen UI, Android 4.3 (with future upgrade capability to 4.4 KitKat), 1GB RAM, HSPA+, and microSD card slot for up to 64GB expansion. Their differences lie in a few spec changes between devices.
Lenovo's been a dominant Android smartphone manufacturer in parts of Asia for some time now and many expect the PC leader to become a serious player in the international market. The Vibe Z smartphone seems to be a good start. It features a 5.5-inch full IPS display, 4G-LTE, a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and a 13 megapixel camera to boot. No specific carrier or availability dates have been announced but we're days away from CES and should hear something more by then.
