Spotify beta tests the ability to use Siri to control its app on iOS 13

The wait might not be too long until you can ask Siri to play music for you on Spotify. The streaming service is beta testing integration with iOS 13's SiriKit audio APIs, which will allow you to ask Siri to interact with the app.

What the API will allow iOS users to do includes everything from playing artists or albums as well as theoretically manage playlists, like tracks, etc. The caveat is you will need to instruct Siri that you want the action done on Spotify, so the virtual assistant knows you want it to interact with this specific app.

Spotify finally lets you share music on Snapchat

Long since its competition (like Instagram) got the feature, Spotify finally lets you share the music you listen to directly to Snapchat. If you have Snapchat and Spotify in the same device, Snapchat will now be an option you'll see in Spotify's share menu. The app will automatically create a snap with the song info and album art. Just like with Instagram, you can send this to individual Snapchat friends or have it posted on your story. You can share songs, albums, playlists, or podcasts. Now, if you get a Spotify share on Snapchat, you can swipe up to start listening to the song sent to you.

You can share 15-second Spotify song clips on Facebook Stories

Spotify wants to help you share your music taste on Facebook with this new feature. You can now share 15-second clips of music from Spotify on your Facebook Stories. The streaming music service is gearing this towards musicians, claiming it's a "more powerful way to connect with fans." But anyone who has a Spotify and Facebook account can use it. If your followers tap on the preview, they will be transferred to Spotify where you can listen to the rest of the track. There's a similar feature available for Instagram.

To share the song on Facebook you just need to hit "Share" when listening to the track on Spotify. When the menu shows up, select Facebook and customize it the way you want before you post. It only works for single tracks right now. The preview for albums and playlists will not have the 15-second clip.
