Super Bowl ads over the years, is it worth it for marketers?

Big events like this past weekend's Super Bowl have great stakes not just for the players and their teams but for the advertisers. Quite honestly, watching the ads have become it's own event. Just go on Twitter during the game and see what's still trending. What was buzzing? Chance the Rapper with Backstreet Boys and Doritos, Game of Thrones Bud Light, Microsoft Xbox Accessible Controller, and OMG, the Hula and The Handmaid's Tale. But what does it all translate to for the advertisers?

Nintendo's first-ever Super Bowl ad

For the first time ever, Nintendo will run an ad during the Super Bowl. The 30-second spot, which along with a 90-second spot that builds on the worldwide anticipated launch of the new Nintendo Switch video game system and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild game, both of which launch March 3.

Microsoft’s new Super Bowl ad sets out to touch hearts

Microsoft isn’t particularly known for releasing touching advertisements that try marry technology with humanity. That seems to be more Apple’s territory. But their new ad for the Super Bowl seems to have hit a good spot. The new ad features the voice of former NFL safety Steve Gleason, who is suffering from ALS. (He has a longer video from Microsoft here.) Microsoft has set out to explain how technology helps different kinds of people get through life and experience the world around them.

Review: Samsung Galaxy Note 16GB (Rogers)

When I first heard about the Samsung Galaxy Note, I found the idea intriguing. Here was a jumbo-sized smartphone with all the benefits of dual-core processors, an eight-megapixel camera capable of 1080p HD video recording with the added convenience of a large, vivid screen.
