Twitter brings in-app tip jar to Android

Brett Jordan/Unsplash

Twitter's in-app tipping feature made its debut on iOS first. But now, it's coming to Android, too. The feature allows you to set up a "tip jar" on your profile where followers and fans can send money to you directly. You can link your Cash App, Patreon, Paypal, Venmo, or Bandcamp with the app. The company also has plans to let you tip or receive tips in Bitcoin too.

Twitter starts rolling out a fix for 'disappearing tweets'

Edgar Moran/Unsplash

If you've used Twitter, you've probably had the social media site suddenly refresh in the middle of a tweet you're reading. Twitter is starting to roll out a fix for these disappearing tweets on the web. You will get an option to choose when Twitter loads new tweets on your timeline. There will be a tweet counter at the top of the interface that you can click.

Twitter is in the process of rolling this feature out, so you might not have access to it right away. And the company plans several other updates to fix problems like these.

Twitter for iOS now lets you search within user profiles

Twitter for iOS finally rolls out a new search button on every user profile. This search option is visible in the top right corner of a user's profile. Before this update, you had to manually search for tweets from a user through the main search tab. And you needed to type out "from:" before a user's name and then search for the tweet you want.

This feature is also accessible in your profile. So, if you're looking to surface a specific tweet of yours, this is an easy way to do just that.

Twitter lets even those without accounts listen to Spaces audio

Twitter

Twitter is rolling out a new feature for Spaces that will let non-Twitter users access the audio conversations. Hosts and listeners can now send anybody a link to a broadcast. And these users can listen in via the web without needing to sign in or register. Of course, they can't participate or use the features, but it expands the feature's reach. And perhaps even entice these people to start using the app.
