Twitter brings SoundCloud streaming to mobile

Listen to new SoundCloud music or podcasts as they are tweeted with the new feature on Twitter for Android and iOS. The social network has integrated SoundCloud streaming into its mobile apps. Called Twitter Audio Cards, it lets you stream audio as you browse through the app. You just need to tap on the embedded player for it to start playing. And then you can tap on the button in the upper right-hand corner to minimize the player while it continues to play.

Twitter partners with French bank to allow for money transfers through tweets

In a move that’ll help them generate more income outside of advertising, Twitter has partnered with French bank Groupe BPCE to let its customers transfer money via tweets. Considered the second largest bank by customers in France, Groupe BPCE said they would allow simple person-to-person money transfers on the social network to its French consumers, regardless of the banks they use and without requiring the sender to know their recipient’s banking details.

The bank’s S-Money service will administer the payments. This service allows money transfers via text message and makes use of credit card industry’s data security standards. No further details have been divulged ahead of their news conference in Paris on Tuesday.

Twitter for Mac gets supports for multiple photo uploads per tweet

Twitter for Mac gets a significant update that will please people who love to tweet photos. Mac users can now upload multiple photos in one-go. It lets you upload up to four photos in one tweet and share these photos via DM as well. It has been around on other platforms for a while but that doesn’t mean we don’t welcome the update. Twitter, of course, included performance improvements and bug fixes with the new update.

Twitter revamps profiles, gets interactive push notifications for iOS 8

Twitter has readied itself for the arrival of iOS 8 with a new look for users’ profiles. Although, admittedly the new look is meant to replicate the image-heavy web profiles. The new profile still has a cover and profile photo but adds a simple white background to show off your bio. The bio was previously hidden to the right, where you had to swipe to see it. Twitter is putting everything front and center so you can see a user’s tweets, photos, and favorites.

The update also brings interactive push notifications so you can reply, favorite, follow, and retweet right from the notification.
