Winny Woo, Desktop Category Business Manager at Hewlett-Packard Canada shows us the latest consumer desktops and all-in-one TouchSmart PC models for the holiday season.  Nice to see that the all-in-one desktops are primed and ready for Windows 8 when it does ship in the future.

Mobilicity raises $215 million of new financing

Showing that it is here to stay and that it intends to continue competing against the incumbents, Mobilicity enhanced its leadership position as Canada’s rising new wireless carrier, announcing that it has raised $215 million through a debt offering.

Wind Mobile under siege, ownership and control challenged

Wind Mobile was the first of the new entrants that shook up the Canadian telecoms industry a year ago. With over 250,000 subscribers,  Wind Mobile now finds itself beleaguered because its controlling company, Globalive (which is a subsidiary of Egyptian giant Orascom) failed to meet Canadian ownership and control requirements in the telecom sector. Could this be the end of Wind Mobile in Canada? What will happen to their susbscribers?
