Panasonic's new Lumix DC-GX9MK camera excels at monochrome street shots

LUMIX DC-GX9MK, a sleek, compact new Digital Single Lens Mirrorless camera. This compact camera enables users to shoot vibrant, true-to-life, high-quality images in their own creative way with excellent resolution, high contrast and impressive colour reproduction. 

The LUMX DC-GX9MK features a 20.3-megapixel Digital Live MOS Sensor without a low-pass filter and Venus Engine to drive maximum lens performance while rendering natural, high-precision images. The L.Monochrome D mode is newly added to Photo Style, making it easy to shoot detailed dynamic monochrome photos with emphasized highlights and shadows.

The Panasonic LUMX DC-GX9MK (GX9 body plus a LUMIX 12-60mm F3.5-5.6 lens) will be available at select Canadian retailers and on the Panasonic eStore in April with an MSRP of $1299.99 (CDN).

Turbo Tax SmartLook, a new tech advancement that makes it even easier for consumers to file on their own without worrying about leaving money on the table. A recent survey conducted by TurboTax found that nearly half (41 per cent) of Canadians feel unsure when it comes to filing on their own, often for fear they’ll miss something a professional wouldn’t.This is particularly for self-employed Canadians who need to factor in a range of costs and expenses.

This year, TurboTax has decided to set those worries to rest with a tool that gives Canadians access to an expert gut check throughout the tax return process. TurboTax SmartLook enables customers to connect via one-way video to a TurboTax Specialist or TurboTax Expert, so they can file with confidence and get their taxes done efficiently and painlessly.

Canadian eSports player "Scarlett" wins IEM PyeongChang championship on StarCraft II's $150,000 prize

Canadian Sasha "Scarlett" Hostyn, the only female competitor to qualify for the Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) in PyeongChang this year, won $150,000 prize pool ahead of the Olympic games representing Canada this year.

The IEM tournament included 18 players representing regions from around the world from Feb. 5-7 in a first-of-its-kind tournament featuring real-time strategy game, "StarCraft* II."

Microsoft's Build Conference returns to Seattle on May 7

Microsoft's Build developer's conference returns to Seattle, Washington on May 7-9. Registration for developers opens on February 15, 2018. Build was usually held in the Bay Area but is now heading back to Microsoft's home state.

Expected to be discussed at Build are the upcoming versions of Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, including Windows on ARM and hopefully a glimpse of some new hardware, possibly a sneak peak at the anticipated 'Andromeda' folding tablet with telephony device.
