Placeholder for ‘Files’ app goes live for a bit on App Store

With WWDC 2017 upon us, a new app from Apple shows up on App Store ahead of the event. Spotted by Steven Troughton-Smith, the placeholder app listing is for an app named Files. It’s just described as a “Files App for iOS” and other than that, there’s a blue folder icon. The app supposedly only supports 64-bit architecture. But other than that not much is known. Apple has already pulled the app from the App Store. It has been rumoured previously that Apple intended to drop support for 32-bit apps so this might be a good clue.

‘Stranger Things 2’ wraps up filming

If you’re like us, you’re keeping an eye out for Netflix’s sleeper hit Stranger Things. Now, we learn that shooting for the second season has wrapped up. The cast and crew of the show have been pretty mum about what we can expect from season 2 but we know it’ll explore more of Eleven’s backstory (played by Millie Bobby Brown) and it’s supposedly more horror-oriented than the first season. While we get to see our favorites from season 1, some of the new faces will include Sadie Sink as Max, Dacre Montgomery as her brother Billy, Sean Astin as Joyce’s new boyfriend Bob, Linnea Berthelsen as the mysterious Roman, and Paul Reiser as a member of the Department of Energy. We’re going to have to wait a bit more, though. The show is going to premiere on Netflix on Halloween, October 31^st.

Google family calendars are now rolling out to users

If you’ve taken advantage of the new Family Group feature from Google, one of the things included is a new family calendar. All members of the family group will automatically be looped into the calendar. Those in the group can add and modify events and rename the calendar. Non-family members can’t be added into the calendar. Calendar sharing has always been available for Google Calendar but this feature will avoid duplicate calendar events for those in the group. It’s not yet live for all users but it should be showing up soon.
